EarthSounds Choir is a world music choir, directed by Ariella Forstein, and the theme of the evening will be: The Soul of Music.

Our audience is composed of the greater Twin Cities community who desire a heart-warming, interactive and palpably magical music experience. Tickets are $20 per adult, and $5 per child, from which proceeds will be donated to Hopewell Music – an organization that makes sure all people have access to a musical education, regardless of income level. Also featured in our concert will be Hopewell Music’s Jazz Ensemble. Get ready for a night of magic.

Still considering holistic voice work with me? Here's a common issue ppl come to me with (throat closing up and no sound coming out), and today's response pre-working with a new client: Dear _____,I hear you. I can guarantee it IS mental + emotional, which affects the physical, which makes your throat close up and your voice unable to utter sound. Rarely, and I mean less than 5% of the time, is there a solely physical issue, and if so, it's like that all the time, not just mid-set. Sometimes, ppl have gotten themselves into such a mental tizzy (I've been there, and seen it often in my clients, which is how I can speak to it) that it's manifested all the time physically, but then, 95%+ of the time, it's still a "posturing" the neck muscles and vocal cords have created because of subconscious beliefs, fears, etc. - to "keep you safe." So this should be relieving to you. I'm glad we're working together. This - your experience - is common, and we'll find your way through if you believe it's possible - which it is. 🙂---Did you know that in 16 years of coaching hundreds of clients 1 on 1, I have only seen 2 cases of an actual physical ailment? 2 cases out of hundreds of clients!One was instructed to go on vocal rest, and then it was fixed. And the other had 1 side of their vocal cords that was literally limp. I've never seen that before, but their ENT diagnosed them. We were still able to help them get better command of their voice. 2 physical ailments in 16 yrs. YEP.And even then, there is an emotional component. There always is. I love you. ... Everyone should be able to express their feelings, and feel safe in doing so. Feelings need to be felt, seen and validated for being had, whether they are true or not. And, we need to remember that feelings are not always Truth, or based on Truth. But they are a part of our human process, and when we listen to them, and healthily express them, feelings can help us align with a healthy life path.I say this as a deeply feeling person.Who often expresses how I feel in the hardest moments. Even if it is very challenging. It brings me to healing and new equilibrium within myself.—There is also a balance between feeling our feelings and an unconscious repeating of, harping upon, or attaching to them.One of the ways we learn this ever-evolving balance is by becoming inquisitive with our feelings, and an expresser of them, but also an *observer* of them.—When it comes to communication with other people about your feelings, and honesty + connection with yourself, this is part of what I help people authentically achieve in my coaching.
