About Ariella
Award-winning performer and International authority on Vocal Empowerment, Ariella Forstein guides people to uncover and rediscover their most AUTHENTIC voice. The Authentic Voice is not just the physical voice, but the ultimate expression of one’s mental, emotional, physical and spiritual state, vital to running a successful business, performing an aria or giving that year-end presentation at the office. When working with Ariella, clients undergo complete transformations as they are empowered to let go of whatever has been holding them back. They then gain the tools to powerfully move forward, as they speak or sing with true conviction, captivate their audience, create remarkable success, and take control of their lives.
From Ariella:
I’ve been a performer since I could make sound.
As an infant I’d wake at midnight and coo while my grandmother would proclaim, “Club Ariella’s open.” My other grandmother would sing as she drove, and from a car seat in the back, my Tinkerbell voice would repeat her melodic lines, verbatim. This confirmed early in my life that I loved to play with my voice.
Many amazing teachers fostered my vocal growth, making sure I studied with the right people as my voice matured. I performed in musicals, solo contests and all-state choirs, and was active in debate team, developing my voice as well as my personality. Speaking was always more challenging for me than singing, but I’ve never backed down from a good challenge so I acted and often shared presentations as well.
It is no surprise that in college I chose to major in Vocal Performance. I studied classical voice, learning all the technique necessary to deliver a powerful vocal performance under all kinds of pressure.
Not wanting to stay within one discipline, I traveled to Ghana to study the music and culture. There, I met a people so passionate, so expressive, and so loving that I was forever touched by the warmth and authenticity people can have when they love what they do.
I bought a drum, and when I came back to the states, started Yeh Dede, one of the West Coast’s renown world music bands between 2005-2011. This was my first experience in business, as I became a manager, producer, booker, director and performer. The project won all kinds of awards and had me on stages big and small.
Then between my touring schedule, I began to coach vocalists. My coaching got me booked as a speaker about Vocal Empowerment around Southern California in schools, at seminars and in workshops.
I learned that in order to run a well-rounded business, I needed to utilize every skill I gained as a performer and manager. My team and I now run an International Coaching business, The Ariella Approach. I also perform, record and share my music regularly… and in the winter you can find me drinking a hot cup of my homemade teas, while in the summer you can find me in the wilderness, camping, canoeing, or just sitting, taking it all in.
